DEMOCRATS PARTICIPATE IN NEWTOWN’S FIRST FOURTH PARADE

NEWTOWN, PA (July 7, 2007) – Newtown’s First Fourth Parade featured many community representatives including Democrats running for county and local office. Bucks County Commissioner Candidates Diane Marseglia and Steve Santarsiero joined Newtown Borough Council candidates Gerard O’Malley, Mike Sellers and Julia Woldorf and Newtown Township candidates Dennis Fisher and Jay Sensibaugh in the annual celebration of our nation’s birthday.

“Each year, residents of Newtown Township and Newtown Borough come together for the most festive of celebrations in our whole area,” said Newtown Democrats Chairman Phil Calabro. “This year we are proud to have the enthusiastic participation of an outstanding slate of candidates for local office.”

O’Malley, 47, is a pharmaceutical marketing executive and has served on the Newtown Borough Planning Commission since 2005, while also serving on the Newtown Creek Coalition and the Newtown Library Company Strategic Planning Sub-committee last year.

Sellers, 55, is an attorney in private practice in Newtown and serves as chair of the Newtown Borough Planning Commission, member of the Environmental Advisory Council, chair of the Design Committee of the Joint Downtown Newtown Corporation and a founding member of the Newtown Creek Coalition.

Woldorf, 56 is a physical therapist in private practice in Bucks County. She currently serves as chair of the Newtown Borough Environmental Advisory Council and is a member of the Newtown Creek Coalition. She was Zoning Officer for the Newtown Borough from 1979-1980.

Fisher, 53, is a behavioral health professional. He serves on the Newtown Township Planning Commission, which reviews all township plans for residential and commercial development and makes recommendations to the Board of Supervisors.

Sensibaugh, 57, is a mechanical engineer and currently serves as Vice Chairman of the Newtown Township Planning Commission. He also has served as President of Newtown Crossing Community Association.
